Dave's spot came in at 7:57 pm. He did make it to the Mt. Ashland Campground at PCT mile 1718. Hopefully they will find Fire Marshall with feet ready to hike. See PCT Half Mile map, California Section R, page 8.

His goal is to hike 25 miles each day, getting him to Washington by August 26th. If he makes that date, he'll aim for the Washington border for September 13th. Leaving 4 additional days to get to Manning Park, Canada (September 17th). Dave and the guys will then head back to Echo Lake (Lake Tahoe area) and hike the 400 miles that they jumped, ending his hike on October 3rd.
I'll update this schedule as miles are or are not met.
I've added to Dave's Blog, just above the big picture of the stack of rocks (the duck), his daily mileage. If you don't have time to read the blog, you can just check out his mileage.
Dave has begun eating peanut butter and jelly on tortillas for lunch. Not wanting to carry around heavy glass or plastic, he improvised and took an inexpensive pastry bag, put the jelly in it, and sealed it up with duct tape. Sadly, it burst. That can be a bit sticky and messy. Thanks to Jim Curts, a co-worker and fellow hiking lover, Dave is getting his very own tubes made especially for hikers. Thanks Jim! I'm sending extra so Dave can hand them out to other hikers. Seems they are all having issues with sticky messes!
