Dave was dropped off at Polique Canyon and begain his hike around 8:13. Around mile 292 he caught up with Dude and Trouble - who Dave had given a ride to just days earlier. He thought he would be bored through the burn area, but it was not as bad as he thought it was going to be.
Dave also was surprised by the amount of water in Holcomb Creek. He saw lots of fish and was just sad he did not have a fishing pole and a few hours to sit and enjoy some fishing. But overall it was an easy downhill hike to Splinter's Cabin, where he was picked up and headed back to the cabin at Big Bear for another restful night.
