Last night in Chester, CA

Dave is spending his last night in Chester. The rain has kept him inside and that is driving him to get out. Thank goodness for baseball, football and the telephone!

He's staying at the Best Western an found someone there to get him back to the trail head, 7.5 miles away on Hwy. 36 tomorrow at 7:00 am. Yes, it will still be raining, but should be sunny around 10:00 am. He wants to hike to Drakesbad Guest Ranch 21 miles away. He'll stay there overnight and then have a 24 mile hike to Old Station.

The Trail Angels, Georgi and Dennis Heitman heard that Dave was coming their way and were concerned that they had not yet seen him. They have the "Hiker Hideaway" at PCT mile 1377.7 Schroomer is getting word to them that Dave is working on getting there Tuesday night. It is wonderful to know that there are so many Angels out there watching out for Dave.

There is another storm coming, so Dave's schedule after Tuesday is a bit up in the air. It does look like it will be November before he is home again. It's getting colder, so the sooner we get him home the better.

Thanks to everyone for all your well wishes and assistance you've give.
