Dave spent Saturday October 30th with Wolfman and Dennis Heitman. He was glad to have a day of rest for his feet, but he is really itching to get this hike complete.
Today, Sunday October 31st, Dave is on the trail again. He's said goodbye to the Heitmans, Wolfman, and Old Station.
Dave tried to give me a call from the trail this morning, but all I got out of him was that today, go figure, it's raining. Yesterday was suppose to be the storm cell's biggest day, but they hardly had anything in the way of rain. Great news is that Dave will only have am showers and then the rain has lifted for the rest of the week!! He should have temps in the high 60's and low 70's. He should have a fantastic last four days of this hike.
It was thought that this last storm was going to bring in a lot of snow. If so, Dave would then have to decide if he wanted to hike through the snow alone or if he would hike on a nearby road. yes, safety first. Since the storm didn't hit the way it was suppose to, Dave should be hiking the trail as hoped.
Through this section, Dave has Ranger Shirley and her husband looking out for him. She is hoping to be on the trail when he walks into Castle Craigs State Park, Dave's ending point, to congratulate him on this great Adventure. My guess today is that Dave will be on the finish line Wednesday around noon.
Look at the last part of Dave's Adventure on PCT Half Mile maps California Section O. He'll be walking the rest of page 1, all of page 2, and the majority of page 3, camping very close to the top of page 3.
