Nearing Hwy 20, aka Rainy Pass

Dave's Spot came in tonight, September 21st, at 5:45 pm. It shows the guys camping at PCT mile 2587.5. See PCT Half Mile map Washington Section K page 15.

They hiked 13.5 miles today. Dave had mentioned that this was tough hiking so he knew the miles per day would slow down. Zero and Fire Marshall's Spots came in just about the same time. It's good that they are staying together

I also forgot to mention that Stehekin, small as it was, had the correct type of fuel that he would need. This is the first spot in all of Washington that carried this fuel. This would be the one location that he received a package of fuel that I sent! Better late than never!

Zero had been planning on hiking into Canada with Dave, but his parents were unable to locate his passport. Dave has his passport card which will not let him fly. I went to the post office to overnight his passport to him. I was told that it would take 3 to 5 business days to get it to Manning Park. Because of this, I did not mail it. If it takes 5 business days, Dave will already be back in the States. His plan is to get a bus or train from Vancouver to Seattle. Hopefully he'll meet up with Zero in Seattle or in Sacramento so they can finish the 412 miles together.
